Slide Set Descriptions


Slide Set One: Pressure Ulcer Basics is composed of 22 slides that define pressure ulcers, and describe characteristics of Stages I-IV. Numerous actual pictures are included depicting the stages. This slide set will be useful in teaching pressure ulcer basics to healthcare professionals in all continuums of care.

Slide Set Two: Understanding Incidence and Prevalence Studies. This 27-slide series describes methods of conducting incidence and prevalence studies. Interpretation of study results is also discussed. This slide set is designed for clinicians, educators, and researchers responsible for tracking pressure ulcer incidence and prevalence.

Slide Set Three: Strategies for Pressure Ulcer Prevention is composed of 28 slides addressing the components of a successful prevention program: risk assessment, skin inspection/assessment, preventive skin care, proper positioning, nutritional assessment, pressure reducing devices, and the importance of accurate documentation. This slide set will be a useful primer for teaching preventative pressure ulcer care.

Slide Set Four: Pressure Ulcer Treatment is composed of 31 slides including information on staging, assessment, treatment and the Push Tool.
